A CALL TO THE
JEDI
By Rick Burnley the Jedi Poet
© October 4, 2006
It looks like Thanatos, the God of death
Has finally found his team
Because if the plan is to trash the planet and life
This crew is just a dream
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Now get to ride again
Death, pestilence, famine and war
The games will now begin
Yeah Thanatos’ minions are roaming
the Earth
Their home is Washington, D.C.
They’re tearing apart our precious planet
They’ll live on in infamy
Vitacide is their real mission
To be the rulers of the planet their goal
They can’t wait to use some nuclear fission
As they murder America’s soul
We were always taught that the
Evil ones
Lived across the sea
What a shock it is for us to find out
That they’re ruling the Land of the Free
These knuckledraggers misleading us
Are very wise they think
But it’s becoming clear to many of us
That we’ve found the missing link
And our numbers are swelling,
Because we’re tired of smelling
The fruits of their actions
They stink
Rise up, we’re the Jedi warriors
And the prophecies are coming to pass
And it’s time for those who love what lives
To get up off their ass
We’re the Jedi by default
Because they’re the Evil Empire
It’s risen from a dark, dark place
And they’re setting our planet on fire
You Wookies, you Ewoks, you
knights and ladies
And those who don’t want to be slaves
Now’s the time to rise up
And overthrow these knaves
Awaken Jedi warriors
Don’t stay in your comfort zone
We’ve all got special gifts to share
And you’ll see that you’re not alone
Hit the streets, talk to neighbors
Amass at the seats of power
The Wise Ones who live among us
Warn that this is a dangerous hour
Freedom isn’t a spectator sport
Don’t sit on the sidelines
While the Empire bombs the planet we love
And covers it with mines
They’ve got an agenda
That’s become quite clear
And they’re on a deadly roll
Don’t let them turn our magic Earth
Into a lifeless black hole.
Muttering about this insanity
Won’t change a single thing
They accuse us of singing to the choir
But does the whole choir sing?
If we don’t rise up and speak out
Our Democracy will come to an end
Because it’s clear to see if you open your eyes
We’re being ruled by conscienceless men
Our weapons don’t blow up the
living
Because we’re the lovers of life
We use truth, kindness and compassion
Instead of the gun and the knife
Gandhi and Martin Luther King
Such are our inspiration
Peace, non-violence and respect for life
Will restore the soul of our nation.
Pray to the Great Spirit
To help you find your courage
That prayer will be answered, I promise you
So, don’t you get discouraged
The Great Spirit is around us
everywhere
Below, inside, and above
The Force is with us, I swear to God
And that force is Love
Dedicated to Cindy Sheehan,
whose life is a gift to all of us,
as an example of what one person
with an open heart open eyes,
and great courage can do
– a 5 Star General of the Jedi.
We salute you.
